See "Michigan Part 8 Rules" PDF at the bottom of this page. ***COVID-19 UPDATE 05/01/2020*** The PSI sites began opening on 5/1/20 and they have been scheduling exams. They are running at a lesser capacity than normal, and below are some requirements for testing at their sites. However, the applicants will not be able to register until an application is submitted and approved by the State Fire Marshal’s office to take the exam. Once they are approved, they will receive an email with instructions on how to proceed with scheduling their exam. If they have already submitted the applicationnand received their approval email, they can go onto the PSI website, register, and then schedule their exams. Below are some links to PSI. Michigan License
The State of Michigan is sending a postcard to members reminding them to renew their license. Follow their instructions by logging onto their website to renew your license online. In order to renew your license online, you must have an account. Click on Michigan License Renewal - No account for complete instructions. Your license can only be linked to one email account. If you have trouble logging in or renewing your license, call 517-241-9316 Upcoming RenewalsElectrical Apprentice renewals occur on a yearly basis and are due by August 31, 2020. If you fail to complete your renewal, you may be subject to licensing action if you are found to be doing electrical work. Fire Alarm Specialty Technician Apprentice renewals occur on a yearly basis and are due by August 31, 2020. If you fail to complete your renewal, you may be subject to licensing action if you are found to be doing plumbing work. Electrical Division Chief – Dean Austin Michigan Licenses for Travelers Our jursidiction covers counties in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Some job sites in Michigan will require you to have a State of Michigan License.
