Q: I am a member of the local and have been for years. I am currently working for another local outside of the jurisdiction. Do I qualify to receive a grant in aid for training at the JATC for continuing education classes? Does reciprocity cover those hours?
A: No, reciprocity only allows health benefits to transfer back to the home local. JATC contributions do not transfer the same way. So, only hours that are worked in the jurisdiction of IBEW Local 8 will be covered for JATC contributions.
