Orientation
1 Week
This will consist of a full week of Orientation.
Please come dressed and prepared to go out to work. (Work boots, warm outer wear, jeans/long pants, etc.)
No Hats or Hoods in the building
No jewelry for your safety
You will be required to bring the tools from the list you were sent with your Orientation Letter, when you come to the Orientation. These tools will be checked by the instructor or director during the Orientation. You will not receive a referral without the proper tools for the career you are starting. Made in the USA tools should be you first choice when purchasing tools.
You will need required information to start a direct deposit account.
You will be required to fill out an indenture agreement in order to register you as an Electrical Apprentice with the Department of Labor.
You will also be required to read and sign-off on multiple other standards and policies.
A representative from Health and Welfare will give you the necessary paperwork to start your benefits.
You will go through an OSHA 10 hr. Construction safety course.
You will sign up for ALEKS math and take an assessment.
You will sign up for the ETA LMS blended online learning program.
Work reports will be discussed with you. These reports are to be filled out weekly and turned in monthly, at the end of the month.
First-Aid CPR and AED Training: Provides the required safety standards and commonly a job pre-hire qualification.
You will receive a training assignment that will begin following the weeklong Orientation.
Once you are given your training assignment you will take it up to the Local 8 referral office to receive your job referral to take to your contractor. (Please look at this date, time, and location to plan accordingly for your timely arrival. Please bring 2 forms of ID to your contractor)
